When A Baby Is Born

When a baby is born, it is born with all 5 senses—sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch. Some not yet fully developed.

After taking their first breath of air, their central nervous system reacts to the sudden change in temperature and environment.

Their world has changed forever. No longer are they held in the safe supportive environment and soothed by gentle movements of the womb.

They try to focus for the first time, recognising the sound of their Mother's voice. They're instinctively drawn to the smell of their Mother's breastmilk and enjoy the first of many warm gentle embraces.

These fragile, remarkable little humans quickly learn to trust and adapt to a whole new world and the people in it, relying on them for survival.

This, is why we must protect them and keep them safe, especially in times like these 💗
